Good to know

Sole proprietor tax, simply explained.

You pay tax on your profit

Income minus deductible expenses gives your profit. This is the starting point for tax, regardless of how much you transfer to your personal account. Read about income in an ENK.

A salary alongside your business affects tax

Tax is calculated based on your total income. Here we compare tax with and without your business profit. The difference is the estimated tax on your ENK, and your salary is excluded from the amount you have left.

VAT is a separate amount

VAT on sales is not money you earn. The calculator shows it separately, before any deduction for VAT on purchases. Choose the correct rate and enter income excluding VAT. See the VAT rates.
